Philip graduated from Durham University with an MEng degree, specialising in electronic engineering. He was awarded a PhD, also from Durham University, for interdisciplinary research into the effects of static magnetic fields on nerve function.
He has previously worked as a software developer and has considerable practical experience of analogue and digital circuit design.
Philip specialises in obtaining patent protection for software-based inventions, and has a particular interest in database management systems, computer security and Internet-based technologies. He also handles cases relating to telecommunications, electronics and mechanical engineering.
Outside work, Philip enjoys travel and is a keen musician.
