After receiving a first degree in Physics, David was subsequently awarded an MSc in Optoelectronic and Laser Devices and a PhD following research relating to optical properties of rare-earth-doped waveguides. Following a brief period working as a post-doctoral research scientist in Germany, David joined the patent profession in 1996. David joined Jenkins in 2006.
David works with a wide range of UK-based clients, helping to protect innovation and advising on third party patent rights. He has particular experience in advising start-up companies on their patent strategy. David is also involved in handling contentious matters both in the UK and the European Patent Office. In 2006 David was awarded an LLM in Intellectual Property Litigation.
Outside of work, David likes to keep himself fit through running, swimming and various winter sports. He also enjoys travelling the world.
